USS Hornet Overnight Trip

In order to get our paperwork in for our proposed overnight trip to the USS Hornet, I need a reasonably good list of all the folks that will be wanting to go.

First, if you want more details about what goes on during this fantastic overnight opportunity, visit this link for all the info:

http://www.uss-hornet.org/groups/overnightscouts/

Here are a few items to note before sending along the names of those who will be attending:

1- All participants must be at least 5 years of age
2- Each child 5-9 years of age should be accompanied by an adult
3- If there are any special diet needs, please make sure to mention that.

In order to proceed, please provide the name, age and sex of each person that will be coming on the trip.

This includes EVERYONE. So if you plan to bring along your scout, his sister/brother and both Mom and Dad are coming, list all of you.

Keep in mind that this overnight will cost $60 per person regardless of age.

This will be the first time that Pack 766 has done this as an outing and I have to admit that I am pretty excited about it! I hope that all of you are equally enthusiastic.

If you are not yet a member of the Yahoo group for our pack, please join here. From there you can access the email for our Cub Master to send in your information.

welcome back...

This evening Pack 766 welcomed back many of our returning scouts and a few new ones. The meeting's agenda was "packed" with activities, including building a paper rocket which the boys got to fly on the stomp rocket launch pads, frisbee golf, a water relay race, and a chance to test their aim with the new marshmallow shooter.

This was our annual popcorn fundraiser kick-off, and the kids got to chow down on some yummy popcorn, and we ended the evening the with an ice cream social. It's hard to believe we packed it all in to one meeting. We are looking for an exciting year filled with lots of traditional activities, as well as some new ones.

Just a few reminders:
  • Sell, sell, sell that popcorn! Earn that pizza party for your den, and let's see who the lucky one is to throw that pie at CubMaster Robert!
  • Our Joining Event/Pack meeting will be held on Monday, September 13th. Invite friends from school and around your neighborhood.
  • If you haven't turned in your annual forms and pack dues, please do so as soon as possible. You can give them to your den leader or email Michelle Ghione for a mailing address.
  • Our Fall family camping trip to Mr. Madonna will be Saturday, October 23rd! We had such a fantastic time at last year's trip, we hope to see many of you there!

birdhouse building...

One of Pack 766's summer activities was building birdhouses. With the generous donation from Home Depot, the scouts met up at the local store one Saturday morning and had the opportunity to use hammers and screwdrivers to build their creations.

A little video of the boys hard at work!
